Further Information:

A stone-built public house dating back to 1716, and on the site of a much older establishment, it was originally known as The Sandiway Head Inn, but the name was changed in 1822 to The Blue Cap in honour of a famous Sandiway foxhound.

The public house is now on the A556 trunk road from Chester to Manchester.
